Derek’s is a voice that recalls the classic songwriters of the 1970’s. Obvious comparisons to Cat Stevens, Van Morrison and James Taylor come easily, but in addition, he brings an alternative sound reminding one of Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy or Sufjan Stevens. Born among the cornfields of the Great Plains of Nebraska, Derek began playing and writing songs after receiving his first guitar in 1986. Since then, he has travelled widely in the lower 48 playing his original songs and favorite cover versions for audiences from California to New York. As of 2022 he has called Massachusetts his home.

MERCY is a trio of local, Cape Cod musicians who have a long history on the Cape. Bill Rountree (Bass/Vocals), Jed Chrysler (Drums/Vocals) and Ed McKendry (Guitar/Vocals) use their strong vocals and musicianship to deliver a fun, rocking set of classic songs.

MERCY originally was led by Bruce MacLean, a familiar figure of the Cape Cod music community. Following the loss of Bruce in the Spring of 2025, Ed McKendry joined and the band continues to be excited to offer good music and a good time.

Bill Pernice: Pianist and composer who hails from the Hudson Valley in New York. He has worked with musicians in the New York metropolitan area and on the road, including Sheila Jordan, Jon Hendricks, Cameron Brown, James Cammack, and many others. He is on three grammy award winning albums with the Jimmy Sturr Band and has played and recorded with Willie Nelson in Nashville.

Frank Poranski: Playing on Cape Cod for the last 25 years. Besides solo performances he's played guitar as part of "Frank and Chev", backed Tianna Esperanza and was half of the duo "Broadway Central" with Lary Chaplan. Today he is part of " The Bitter and Broken Men's Chorus", fronts "Frank Poranski and the Pollyannas and is half of the Italian duo "Bella Ciao" along with Kami Lyle.

Jed Chrysler: Drummer, percussionist, multi instrumentalist. Stage and studio. Working with bands, singer/songwriters, duos, and theater productions Performer, band leader, recording artist, touring artist, composer, producer, music event organizer, booking. Over 40 years. Working on Cape Cod, with winters in Naples , Fl., Previously based out of Boston, Milwaukee, Omaha. Performing Nationally and internationally, with artists ranging from budding newcomers, to seasoned veterans, to chart topping, internationally acclaimed, award winning artists.

The work of the Nauset Light Preservation Society is funded entirely through the support of donors (like us!). NLPS operates and maintains Nauset Lighthouse, helps to interpret the site to the public, and raises funds through memberships in the society and donations from visitors to keep Nauset Light lit. Nauset Light is the most well-known and photographed lighthouse on Cape Cod!

Spencer Bebon is a guitarist and singer-songwriter raised in Fairfield, Connecticut, who spent his summers on Skaket Beach in Orleans. After a decade in New York City, where he became a fixture of the Brooklyn music scene with his band Big Honey, Spencer is thrilled to be back on Cape Cod performing music full-time.
